Singapore Chinatown (Posted 27 Jan 20)
Went to Chinatown to have a look at the Lunar New Year Festivities. Photos were taken 11 Jan 20, before the outbreak of Wuhan Virus.

Singapore Chinatown
Sweet Barbecue
The moment I step out of the Chinatown MRT, I am greeted to the strong sweet barbecue smell of BBQ Pork or Bak Kua (肉干).
This brand is Bee Cheng Hiang (美珍香). There are many others in Chinatown. The one with the longest queue during CNY is Lim Chee Guan (林志源).
来啊 来啊 试吃 – Come and Sample
This uncle was speaking in a loud voice, getting passerby to try the peanuts. There were many who tried with numerous peanut shells on the floor as evidence. Those that sampled missed the rubbish bin or the floor is simply the bin to them.
Its a Good Buy
This vendor trying to persuade potential customers to buy his New Year decorations.
Bright & Red
A shop selling lots of Lunar New Year decorations, lanterns and posters.
Take Me Home
This is the year of the Rat. The rat stuff toys are seemingly pleading with the man to buy them.
Kim Joo Guan (金裕源)
My favorite Bak Kua. Actually I always buy this brand because it was recommended by my wife 3 years ago. Nicest or not does not seem to matter now.
Black Melon Seeds
One of my favorite food during Lunar New Year. I munch on these when I was younger while playing computer games. Now I am munching it as I am working on my photos and this project.
Dried Hams (金华火腿)… Chinese Style
I must say I do not recall ever eating this. But it does look impressive. Will like to try someday.
Other than Bratwurst
Chinese sausages. You do not eat them as you would like western sausages. These are smoked and preserved. What our fore fathers used to eat in the past.
